Transfer Gossip

Man United bid for Bale, Benzema, Ramos, Varane, Pedro deal close and Chelsea want Danny Rose. Name your price? £85m?

Wenger says no to Benzema, Rafael to Lyon for £2.1m, Liverpool bid £14.9m for Cheryshev, Soldado for £11m...

Van Gaal still wants Bale (oh god), City want Berahino, Carrick rejected PSG, West Ham and Everton want Austin...
BOURNEMOUTH TO BUY TOMLIN
Bournemouth are doing lots of business during this window, as Eddie Howe looks to make his squad Premier League-proof.

The Evening Gazette are reporting that Middlesbrough have agreed to sell Lee Tomlin to them for £3m. 'Boro themselves are trying to fund a £14m bid for Jordan Rhodes, which is a mental fee between two second-tier clubs.

FER TO SUNDERLAND
The Sunderland Echo is reporting that Leroy Fer will join Sunderland on a season-long loan deal from QPR.

It's a move that makes a great deal of sense. Fer is the cousin of Sunderland left-back Patrick van Aanholt, and is also familiar with Dick Advocaat.

With Sunderland also talking to Yann M'Vila, there is the potential for a promising central midfield partnership.

LINGARD TO NEWCASTLE?
What is it with bids for Manchester United players today? This time it's reported Newcastle interest in Jesse Lingard.

Lingard signed a new deal at Old Trafford in February, but has been unable to force his way into the first-team reckoning and despite his insistence that he wants to stay, could be forced to look elsewhere for regular football.

On Tuesday, The Sun claimed the player was the subject of a potential £2.5m bid from Bristol City but reports now suggest the player is wanted by McClaren at Newcastle. He did play for him on loan at Derby.

WEST HAM BIDDING FOR HERNANDEZ
It's a move that has been mooted all summer, but the London Evening Standard claim that Slaven Bilic will sanction a bid for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

West Ham are in need of a striker, with Enner Valencia out for three months and Andy Carroll injured until some point during the next millennium. The Standard claim that a £12m bid will be submitted to United.

Given that Louis van Gaal is not exactly flush for strikers, it remains to be seen whether he will entertain offers for Hernandez.

YOUNG SIGNS NEW DEAL?
That's the claim from ESPN, who report that the winger will sign a new three-year deal at Old Trafford. Wow.

Young had been linked with a move away from Manchester United, with rumours of Newcastle and Tottenham interest. That rather indicates the level he is at - Young was great last season, but is that is peak?

We have made no secret of our opinion that United should warmly thank Young for his performances last season and move him on. Giving him a new deal on £120,000 when he is already 30 is a funny move.

ARSENAL LINKED WITH CHERYSHEV
Liverpool have been very strongly linked with 24-year-old Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev, but today we have a new reported suitor: Arsenal. Spanish newspaper AS claim that Arsenal are sniffing around the Russian, presumably because they spotted that a lack of left-wing options meant Santi Cazorla made a return to the flank on Sunday at Wembley.

Cheryshev is said to be available for upwards of £15m but reports in Spain last month claimed Rafa Benitez is actually rather keen on him as back-up to Ronaldo.

TRAORE HAS TRIO OF SUITORS
This particular Traore is Barcelona starlet Adama Traore, who - according to Mundo Deportivo - will visit the facilities of three Premier League clubs and negotiate with each of them. The three Premier League clubs? Liverpool, Stoke and Villa. Frankly, we don't fancy Villa's chances.

The 19-year-old winger is apparently available for around £11m (with a buy-back clause, we suspect).

LEICESTER LIKE INLER; INLER NOT KEEN
We're not massively surprised that Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler is reluctant to join Leicester City despite his club reportedly - and this comes from Italian newspaper La Nazione - agreeing a £3.1m fee for the Swiss international. Apparently he fancies Fiorentina instead. Of course he does.

MAN CITY CHASING ISCO
Frankly, we have seen this one before. Manuel Pellegrini was strongly linked with Isco when he first took over at Manchester City, and now he is being strongly linked with him again - this time by Spanish newspaper Sport.

This might be City's best option if Wolfsburg continue to play hardball with Kevin De Bruyne, with reports suggesting that the Germans will only talk if £50m is put on the table.

UNITED WANT REAL CREW
Right, so according to The Sun (and this is Antony Kastrinakis so have a big bowl of salt ready), Manchester United have made TWO (their capitals) world record-busting £100m offers for Gareth Bale this summer. Real weren't interested and neither was Bale. It seems United made a series of bids for Real players, including the well-publicised pursuit of Sergio Ramos but also offers for striker Karim Benzema and defender Raphael Varane.

Varane and Ramos are clearly not for sale but the Daily Mirror claim that Pepe is being touted around several big European clubs, including United. If that went through, we would stick September's mortgage payment on a red card in the first month.

IS PEDRO DEAL CLOSE?
The British and the Spanish press seem to agree that this one is getting close, with the Daily Mirror saying a £20m deal will be completed in the next 48 hours. Spanish newspaper Sport claim that United have made a £19m offer for the Spaniard but that Barcelona are holding out for the £22m asking price. All indications are that they will agree on a compromise, with United paying £19m up front and agreeing to pay another £4m in add-ons.

CHELSEA WANT KISS FROM A ROSE
This is just bizarre. The Daily Mirror claim that 'Chelsea have asked Tottenham to name their price on Danny Rose'. We suggest they say '£85m' and sit back with their arms crossed. Chelsea need a left-back and Tottenham have two, but we are not even remotely convinced that Rose is anywhere near good enough. We're not convinced that Chelsea think he is either - but talk of a £15m offer for the full-back might push Augsburg into doing business on Baba Rahman.
