Welcome to AfricanFootball.com's as-it-happened review of the Africa Stars Watch for Tuesday 18 August.

We kept you up to date with the latest news for African players involved in the first leg of the playoff round in the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League.

22h40 - That's full time in all the matches, you can see the final scores above. It was a good evening for African strikers, with Seydou Doumbia, Islam Slimani and Keita Baldé Diao all scoring crucial goals for their respective teams.

22h37 - Marouane Fellaini scores at the death to make it 3-1 to Manchester United over Diaby's Club Brugge.

22h33 - Bibras Natcho replaces Doumbia for CSKA, bringing the Ivorian's eventful night to an end.

22h25 - Now Islam Slimani scores for Sporting, who move 2-1 up at home to CSKA! The Algerian nets with a low shot from the edge of the box!

22h21 - Ahmed Musa has a goal disallowed for CSKA, while Lazio claim the lead against Bayer thanks to a goal from Senegal's Keita Baldé Diao!

22h19 - Keita Baldé Diao is denied a goal for Lazio by a great save from Bayer's goalkeeper! Still 0-0 in Rome.

22h18 - Mikhail Gordejchuk scores for BATE, who go 1-0 up against the 10 men of Aboubakar Oumarou's Partizan.

22h16 - Doumbia now picks up a caution for CSKA... the Ivorian can't seem to stay out of the action for very long.

22h14 - Slimani now sees a shot saved, with the Algerian looking to give his Portuguese side the lead against their Russian opponents.

22h10 - Slimani with a chance to put Sporting 2-1 ahead but he blazes his shot over the target!

22h02 - Nigeria's Onazi has been subbed off for Lazio, while Slimani has been cautioned for a tough challenge against CSKA.

22h00 - Diaby makes way for Brugge; he is replaced by Obbi Oulare upfront for the Belgian champions.

21h56 - Doumbia has a goal ruled out for offside in Lisbon. The Ivory Coast striker is having an eventful evening for CSKA!

21h52 - In Rome, Senegal's Keita Baldé Diao has replaced Miroslav Klose for Lazio, who remain locked at 0-0 with Bayer.

21h48 - We are back underway in the second half in the four Champions League playoff matches.

21h34 - We've reached half time in all four matches. Thus far Seydou Doumbia is the only African scorer, having netted for CSKA at Sporting. BATE and Patrizan is locked at 0-0, as is Lazio-Leverkusen. Diaby's Club Brugge are 2-1 down away to Manchester United.

21h31 - Oumarou's Partizan have been reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half time after the sending off of Marko Jevtovic.

21h30 - Depay has scored a second to put Man United 2-1 up against Brugge, while Slimani almost finds the back of the net for Sporting but is denied by a brilliant save.

21h25 - Ivory Coast's Doumbia makes up for his penalty miss with a brilliant finish from inside the box to make it 1-1 between Sporting and CSKA!

21h15 - Doumbia misses a penalty for CSKA, who remain 1-0 down away to Portugal's Sporting.

21h10 - Still goalless in the matches between Lazio and Leverkusen, as well as BATE and Partizan.

21h00 - In Lisbon, Teofilo Gutierrez has put Slimani's Sporting 1-0 up against CSKA.

20h59 - But United hit back immediately through Memphis Depay to make it 1-1 at Old Trafford!

20h54 - A stunning start for Diaby's Club Brugge, who open the scoring against Manchester United after an own goal from Michael Carrick!

20h45 - We are underway in the four playoff round, first leg matches across Europe for the Champions League.

20h35 - Ten minutes to kick-off of the four remaining Champions League matches this evening.

20h25 - In Lisbon, Portuguese giants Sporting start with Algerian striker Islam Slimani against Russia's CSKA Moscow, who have both Ivorian Seydou Doumbia and Nigerian star Ahmed Musa in their XI.

20h20 - At Old Trafford, Mali's Abdoulay Diaby starts for Belgian champions Club Brugge against Manchester United.

20h15 - Italian side Lazio have Nigerian forward Ogenyi Onazi in their starting XI for the match against Germany's Bayer Leverkusen, while Senegal's Keita Baldé Diao is on the bench for the Rome-based club.

 20h10 - The line-ups for the 20h45 matches are beginning to come in. Cameroon's Aboubakar Oumarou will start for Partizan Belgrade away to BATE in Belarus.

20h00 - We begin with news from Kazakhstan where Astana have beaten Cypriot team APOEL 1-0 thanks to a goal from Bourzhan Dzholchiev, which was assisted by Central African Republic player Foxi Kéthévoama.

The match also featured appearances from DR Congo's Junior Kabananga and Sao Tome & Principe striker Luis Leal.
