Nigerian Police save  Agbim from angry fans

Police save fumbling Agbim from angry fans
Only the timely intervention of the police saved fumbling Chigozie Agbim from an attack by angry fans, who blamed the goalkeeper for gifting visiting FC IfeanyiUbah a 3-2 win at Rangers at the weekend.
he angry fans said Agbim ought to have done better to stop IfeanyiUbah’s two late goals, which earned the Nnewi club a stunning 3-2 win at Rangers.

The fans therefore went for the shot stopper immediately after the game, but the police and goalkeeper Akor Itodo were around to escort him safely into the dressing room.

“They said he ought to have had better reflexes to stop those goals,” an eye witness said.

Agbim, who returned to Rangers during the season after he was released by relegated Gombe United, was not picked for the Rangers squad who traveled for a Federation Cup semi-final against Lobi Stars in Katsina on Wednesday.

Itodo and Uche Okafor were the goalkeepers on the trip, but officials said Agbim was not registered for the cup competition.
