TRANSFER GOSSIP
Pedro goes to Chelsea while Victor Mosses goes to Barcelona. Enrique has pointed Victor Moses as direct and cheaper replacement for Pedro who will be joining Chelsea in a matter of days. Moses impressed during pre-season against Barca and may be the back-up for Neymar whose health concerns  has been an issue lately.
Westbrom is set to loan out out-of favour Nigerian duo of Victor Anichebe and Brown Ideye. While Everton is weighing the option of getting Anichebe from where he started , Newcastle is considering the capture of Brown Ideye on a season long loan.

So we've been told all afternoon that United pulled out of the Pedro race because they want a forward instead and more pace in the team. We're basically ignoring the fact that Ed Woodward went out to Spain to sort the deal.

Anyway, the Telegraph are going quite big on their claim that United are instead making an approach for Sadio Mane of Southampton. That answers the 'pace' question, but not the striker need. They say he made a bid last week.

Also, it's a massive shout pulling out of a £21m deal for Pedro in order to go for Mane. He's not gonna be available for much less, is he?


WEST HAM PULL OUT OF ADEBAYOR DEAL
That's the chatter from our friends at ESPN, who say that the Hammers has cooled their interest in Adebayor.

Adebayor was reportedly banking on a move to East London having turned down Aston Villa, but it looks like he may not get his way.

As ESPN say: 'West Ham have doubts about making a new move for the former Arsenal and Manchester City man due to his wages and his temperament are ready to look elsewhere for striking reinforcements'.

Oh dear. Still, Spurs need a striker?


CHELSEA IN FOR LACAZETTE
Ballsy stuff now from the Daily Star, who claim that Chelsea will offer £21m plus Loic Remy for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Star do ignore the fact that Lacazette only signed a new contract at Lyon earlier this summer. There is no way on this lovely green earth that Lyon will let him go for that price. Try doubling that price and taking away a few.


POYET GOES TO MK DONS
Actual news, straight from the horse's mouth. If the horse is West Ham and the mouth is their official website.

A story has dropped that Diego Poyet has joined Championship side MK Dons on a season long loan.

The Uruguayan, son of Gus, made only three appearances for West Ham last season after moving from Charlton. He was loaned out to Huddersfield, but didn't really fit in their either.


EVERTON WANT RANOCCHIA
That's the claim in the Daily Express, who say that the Internazionale defender tops the list to replace John Stones.

They take their lead from TalkSPORT, who believe that Roberto Martinez has made him the No. 1 target. He will cost big bucks, that much will say. Also, he's very, very handsome.

Of course they also claim that Ranocchia is an Arsenal target. Because the Express gonna Express.


PEDRO TO CHELSEA IS DONE
Lordy. This is massive from Marca and various other Spanish sources - it seems Pedro is in London to undergo a medical before completing a £20m move (rising to £22m) from Barcelona to Chelsea. Wow.

So after all that faffing around from Edward Woodward (who apparently refused to match the perfectly reasonable release fee of £22m), Pedro is on his way to Chelsea. This makes perfect sense - Eden Hazard looks shattered, Jose Mourinho is clearly unconvinced by Oscar and Willian has been turned into some kind of run-bot.


SAKHO WANTS OUT
Frankly, you can't blame Mamadou Sakho for eyeing the Liverpool exit door - with Euro 2016 in France next summer, he needs to play football and right now he is not even getting on the bench for Liverpool while Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren are doing a passable impression of a defensive pairing.

L'Equipe say he wants out and that German side Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to pay £7m. That would be a big loss on the £18m Liverpool paid to PSG, so perhaps a loan is the most likely outcome.


JOSE TO SPEND; CUADRADO OFF
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport say that Jose Mourinho has been given the go-ahead to spend lots of lovely cash - largely on John Stones and Pedro if you believe the rumours.

And why would this concern an Italian newspaper? Because the arrival of some shiny new players would see Juan Cuadrado leave Chelsea on loan for Juventus, that's why.


OTAMENDI AND DE BRUYNE ON THE WAY
It is today's big news in transferland. Manchester City don't look to be resting on their laurels after a wonderful start to the season, with most of the papers reporting that deals for both Kevin de Bruyne and Nicolas Otamendi will be completed soon. And at a lofty price.

It is the Daily Mirror who take the big lead, claiming that City will spend £88m on the pair, with Wolfsburg holding out for £56m for De Bruyne. We'd be very surprised if he went for that much, but a fee somewhere between £45m and £50m seems reasonable.

The deal for Otamendi is set at £32m, a slight saving on the original asking price. That might have something to do with Valencia still owing money to City for Alvaro Negredo. Jorge Mendes can continue to have Cristal on his cornflakes.


CHELSEA TRYING TO HIJACK UNITED'S PEDRO DEAL
Manchester United supporters, look away now. While your club desperately tries to sign Thomas Muller (surely to no avail), reports suggest that Chelsea are beginning to circle around Pedro.

The Daily Mail claim that Chelsea will make a last-ditch attempt to hijack United's deal, although they accept that United remain in pole position for the player after Ed Woodward flew to Spain to negotiate.

Interestingly, the Mail give the following information: 'Chelsea had an interest in the 28-year-old earlier in the summer but coach Jose Mourinho wasn't sure. Now, though, the Premier League champions are back on the scene with owner Roman Abramovich particularly keen on the player.' Isn't that what happened with Andriy Shevchenko?

Basically, United are silly-arsing about over little points in Pedro's contract. Stop doing that.


TERRY TO TURKEY?
You get taken off at half-time, and suddenly it becomes a national news story. We have no doubt whatsoever that John Terry remains in Jose Mourinho's first-team plans, though Gary Neville might be right that his role may have to change slightly as he ages.

However, the Daily Mail have got very giddy indeed. They claim that Fenerbache are looking to make a 'stunning' swoop for Terry. It's only 'stunning' if Chelsea don't tell them to eff off, and eff off immediately.

In fact, it's all a bit smoke and mirrors from the Mail, because their story actually refers to Terry leaving Chelsea next summer, not this.

'Terry can start negotiations with overseas clubs from January and the Turkish giants will keep tabs on developments regarding the veteran defender's future ahead of a potential Bosman swoop,' they say, claiming Terry could earn in the region of £2.5m a season in wages. He earns over £7m a year now, chaps.
