Van Gaal to recall De Gea for Liverpool game, Arsenal and City chase Isco, James Wilson set for Derby loan...Arsenal to battle with Liverpool for a Real Betis midfielder and to rival Spurs for Breel Embolo, Man United want Felipe Anderson, and Barcelona chase Riyad Mahrez.
Fiorentina want Kurt Zouma on loan, Manchester United will return for £29million Felipe Anderson in January, and Real Madrid rejected a £110million bid for Cristiano Ronaldo.
After a spell in the Old Trafford cold before a Deadline Day move to Real Madrid collapsed, reports suggest that Louis van Gaal might finally be ready to bring David de Gea back into his warm embrace.
Writing in the Daily Mirror, David McDonnell says that Van Gaal is set to recall De Gea for the visit of Liverpool this weekend. The Dutchman left out his No. 1 goalkeeper in favour of Sergio Romero whilst the sorry business of his attempted move away was sorted out (or not).
Van Gaal will reportedly hold clear-the-air talks with De Gea when he returns from the international break. Praise the shambolic administration!
ARSENAL AND CITY CHASE ISCO
It's hard not to feel sorry for Isco. He would probably get into any other side in the world, but a Real Madrid front six of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos leaves very little room for anyone else. The Spaniard started 26 La Liga games last season, but is a glorified gap-filler. He's better than that.
Barcelona publication Sport claims that Arsenal will attempt to sign Isco in January, with a fee of €30million mooted. They also add that Manchester City will join this particular race, which isn't wonderful news for Arsenal.
WILSON SET FOR DERBY LOAN?
The word on Tuesday was that 20 different clubs want to take Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan when that particular window opens. Louis van Gaal has evidently decided that Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial doth a strikeforce make.
The Daily Mail say that Louis van Gaal was prepared to loan Wilson out with a view to a permanent move on Deadline Day, which seems like a blow to the young striker. Still, United changed their mind after letting Javier Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj leave.
Wilson has played just 17 minutes of first-team football since January, and is thought to be pretty disillusioned with Old Trafford life. A successful move to the Championship would give him some vital minutes and goals. He has only scored four times at club level.
AND THE REST
Chelsea target Paul Pogba says he turned down the opportunity to leave Juventus this summer because he felt there was "no motive" to do so... Arsenal are confident Danny Welbeck will play again before the end of the year - despite Roy Hodgson writing the striker off for the next six months... Thierry Henry has been warned he will have to undergo a 'psychological and mental transformation' if he wishes to succeed as a manager... Kevin Nolan is training with League Two side Leyton Orient following his release by West Ham... Manchester United have received no enquiries for midfielder Ander Herrera despite reported interest from La Liga pair Valencia and Barcelona... Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has revealed he is fully fit after a lengthy spell on the sidelines... Gordon Strachan is set to be offered a new deal to extend his stay as Scotland boss... Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty has told Norwich manager Alex Neil he is not prepared to drop out of the Premier League.
It was a momentous night for the 29-year-old England captain, who was clearly filled with emotion during his celebration.
After the match, Roy Hodgson handed his skipper a commemorative shirt with 'Rooney 50' on the back in the dressing room.
The players chanted his name repeatedly as he received the shirt and the captain then addressed them all in a short speech.
"I want to thank all of the coaches, the players, and the staff who I have worked with for such a long time," the Manchester United forward said.
"This is such a huge moment for myself and my family in my career. Hopefully for the team and for myself there will be a lot more to come, we can be successful and hopefully a lot of the younger lads - coming through like Harry (Kane), Ross (Barkley), and Raheem (Sterling) can come close and even pass me in the future.
"I am grateful, it means the world to me and thank you very much."
It was slightly bizarre to namecheck Barkley, who has scored just ten Premier League goals in his career. And Rooney had 14 England goals when he was Kane's age.
Shortly after the match, Charlton paid tribute to the man who overhauled his 49-goal tally.
"I would like to congratulate Wayne on becoming England's leading goalscorer," the 1966 World Cup winner said.
"I have always been very proud to hold this record. Playing for my country was always an honour and a privilege and something I did with great pride.
"I obviously cannot deny that I am disappointed that I now don't hold this record, however, I am absolutely delighted that it is Wayne, as captain of my beloved club and country, who now holds this record.
"On behalf of myself and everyone at Manchester United I would like to say 'Congratulations Wayne this is a very proud moment for you and your family. It is a record that I am sure you will hold for a long time, and it is clear to see that you will go on scoring for your club and country for a long time to come."'
Rooney took 12 years and 107 matches to bring up his half century.
Given that he has vowed to play on for England for at least another three years, there will be plenty of opportunities to add to his tally.
Hodgson believes the Manchester United forward could potentially score upwards of 60 goals.
"If he plays to 2018 at least we are talking 20 or 30 games, so 10 to 15 goals with his rate of scoring," the England boss said.
Harry Kane bagged the other goal in the Euro 2016 qualifying win, which meant England secured top position in Group E with two matches left.
