Ayew named EPL Player of the Month

Andre Ayew has been named the Barclays Premier League August Player of the Month.

Ayew was picked for the first award of the season ahead of team-mate Bafe Gomis along with David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov (both Manchester City), Chris Smalling (Manchester United) and Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City).

The Ghana international has had an electric start to life in Premier League with a debut goal against Chelsea among three strikes in four games so far.

He also provided a superb assist for Gomis to slot home the winner against Manchester United at the Liberty last time out.
