Tanzania pro strikers fly in Thursday
Tanzania said they expect their overseas pros led by TP Mazembe pair of Mbwana Samata and Thomas Ulimwengu to join the rest of the squad on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s AFCON qualifier against Nigeria in Dar es Salaam.

Free State Stars striker Mrisho Ngassa is the other foreign pro the Taifa Stars are expecting.

“We expect the pros from TP Mazembe Samata and Ulimwengu and Ngassa from Free State Stars in South Africa on Thursday,” said Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) spokesman Boniface Wambura.

Incidentally, all the pros are strikers.

Tanzania trained in Turkey for a week and lost a friendly 2-1 to Libya as part of their preparations for Saturday’s showdown.

In June , they lost their opening qualifying match 3-0 in Egypt.

They are currently handled by Charles Boniface Mkwasa in a caretaker capacity after Dutchman Mart Nooij was fired after a loss to Uganda in a CHAN qualifier in June.
