Rafa Benitez dismisses Steven Gerrard jibe

Rafa Benitez has indicated Steven Gerrard is trying to sell more copies of his autobiography by claiming the pair endured a frosty relationship at Liverpool.
Gerrard said in his book, which is being serialised by the Daily Mail, that he has no bond with Benitez and felt disliked by the Spaniard.
Benitez, however, has dismissed the veteran's comments as a marketing ploy.
"Out of the respect that I have for Stevie and for the value and appreciation I have for him, and for Liverpool and the supporters, I think it's best to just let it pass," he said on Spanish television.
"He has brought out a book and now I'm the Real Madrid manager, that sells."
Benitez, who is now in charge of Real Madrid, spent six years with Liverpool, notably winning the Champions League with the Reds in 2005. Gerrard played a starring role in the penalty shootout triumph over AC Milan.
