Victor Moses may end up finally realising his dream for a permanent role at Chelsea of England, following reports that The Blues are reluctant to sell him to Stoke City, where the winger played on loan last season.
Initial reports had indicated that Chelsea were willing to listen to Stoke about the possibility of an outright sale of Moses to The Potters, but a deal in that direction, at that point in time, appeared tioed to the expected arrival of Bosnian goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic from The Britannia Stadium.
However, with Begovic’s move to Stamford Bridge now signed and sealed, the angle of Moses being a makeshift in the deal no longer exists, thereby creating avenues for the Super Eagles star, who also played on loan at Liverpool the previous season, to finally tie down a spot in London.
This much has been confirmed by Stoke boss, Mark Hughes, who admits that Chelsea could keep hold of Moses this season, as the gaffer, who asked for the former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic ace as part of Begovic’s move to The Blues appears to have given up in his quest to buy the Nigerian dazzler.
Hughes expressed a desire to keep Moses, after the player scored four goals in 23 appearances last season, but admits the ace is about to be given another opportunity to shine at Chelsea, which he joined three seasons ago from Wigan.
“Victor did exceptionally well for us and showed enough in his time here to make Chelsea aware of the talent they have. It could be that Victor players a part for Chelsea this year
“It could be he plays a part for Chelsea this year. He showed enough in his time with us that it made Chelsea very aware of the talent they have.
“I think they would possibly like to keep him although if they go into the market again, they could change that idea. Victor obviously came to us last year and did exceptionally well for us.”
“Chelsea have taken a view on Victor and they’re thinking that possibly they could keep him. They could go into the market again and that would change the idea,” Hughes said.
