Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo is aware of the reports linking him
to Aston Villa but will rather wait until a formal bid is tabled for
him before reacting, although he has not ruled out a move.
Aston Villa’s Belgian forward Christian Benteke is close to a move to
Liverpool after both clubs agreed to a £32.5million move; and it seems
manager Tim Sherwood is wasting no time seeking replacements with the
Nigerian striker and Fiorentina front-man Khouma Babacar topping his
wish list.
But in a chat with completesportsnigeria.com, the 26-year-old refused to confirm if he was open to a move this summer.
“Yes I’m aware of the reports linking me but there’s no formal bid,”
“Only God knows if I’d move.”
The former Udinese star also told Watford observer that the Hornets
pre-season training camp in Germany has allowed Watford’s newest
recruits to integrate with the squad.
Ighalo has bagged his six goals for the Hornets in pre-season so far.
Watford will face Dundee United and Cardiff City before taking on
Europa League winners Sevilla.
