Omeruo inntraining with chelsea

Celtic Give Omeruo Conditions

Kenneth Omeruo is facing another obstacle in his hope of joining Super Eagles fellow-defender, Efe Ambrose at Celtic of Scotland this summer, as the Glasgow-based side say they have to sell one of their back-four players to make way for the Chelsea reject.
Omeruo had been awaiting positive news from Glasgow in his bid to finally dump the ‘extra tyre’ status he continues facing at Chelsea, as the London club have loaned him out for the past three seasons, first to ADO Den Haag of Holland and twice at English Championship side, Middlesbrough.
The dark-skinned lad appeared desperate to stamp his authority at Stamford Bridge, but his aspirations were dented by a torrid end to his spell at Boro last season, with an astonishing drop in form for club and country.
Despite that setback, a new lease of life appeared on the horizon for Omeruo, with hints of summer transfer interest coming his way from Lille Metropole of France and Celtic, as well as a couple of teams in Turkey and Germany.
Of the lot, the offer from Celtic appeared as Omeruo’s best bet, but the youthful defender, who has also played for Sunshine Stars of Akure and Standard Liege of Belgium, is close to losing that as well, following reports that a move to Scotland is mired with a tell-tale condition.
The 21-year-old centre half has a contract with The Blues until June 30, 2018 and, though he is being considered by The Hoops for a summer deal, it would only materialise if they cut ties with Dutch defender, Virgil van Dijk before the window closes.
“Kenneth Omeruo is a player that is on Celtic’s radar but only likely to join if Virgil van Dijk is sold. Virgil van Dijk is likely to remain at Celtic as long as they are in the Champions League, ” a Celtic insider told allnigeriasoccer.com.
