Transfer Gossip

Chelsea to add Victor Moses, Omeruo in Stone's deal.
Jordon Ibe, sammy Ameobi, Nedum Onuoha, Kenneth Otigba and Chuba Akpom to be approached for Eagles.
The Liverpool boss has cash to splash following Raheem Sterling's £49m move to Manchester City.
He's already drafted in Danny Ings, James Milner, Joe Gomez, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Bogdan and Roberto Firmino.
Christian Benteke is set to follow in the next 48 hours as the Reds flex their muscles in the transfer market.
Rodgers is eyeing Reus and Gotze

And Rodgers is now set to ramp up his spending after being linked with two German stars.
Reports have suggested Liverpool want to land Borussia Dortmund ace Marco Reus

Man United to win Otamendi battle, Xabi Alonso to return to Liverpool, Spurs bid for 'amazing African Ronaldo', Wojciech Szczesny is off to Roma...
Manchester United line up move for Gareth Bale, Tottenham eye £15m Berahino, and Arsenal target Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.
'SHOCK' DE BRUYNE PLANS
The shameless Daily Express website calls them 'shock plans' but basically, Wolfsburg have said that Manchester City and Juventus target Kevin de Bruyne is not for sale. Which doesn't sound wildly shocking to us.

Francisco Garcia, chief of the club's supervisory board, said: "We don't want to sell anyone, including Kevin. Of course the player has to want to stay, but we're not worried about that at the moment."

PEDRO ON WAY TO UNITED
We're not sure how this fits into the concept of a 'surprise' striker signing, but Spanish newspaper El Confidencial are apparently adamant that Pedro will swap Barcelona for Manchester United this summer.

Apparently, Pedro could be 'living his last few days in Barcelona' as he has the appetite for a switch and his club would sell for around £22m.

"Pedro's thing is an individual decision," Suarez told Spanish publication Marca. "He's had many years at the club, he has won many titles and his decision will be respected.

"But as a team-mate, obviously, I want Pedro to stay because of the importance that he has on a group level."

ARSENAL FANCY KOLASINAC
They might be the only ones who fancy Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac; he only played six Bundesliga games last season so is hardly hot property.

We don't quite know why Italian gossipers Tutto Mercato have got involved in a Bosnian possibly leaving a German club for an English one, but who are we to question why? We're just here to suggest that he could replace Nacho Monreal.

UNITED AHEAD OF CITY FOR OTAMENDI
Forget the 'surprise' striker for a second, and let us return to the Nicolas Otamendi rumour mill.

A man seemingly half-way through the door at Old Trafford last month, speculation has ground to an abrupt halt with Manchester United reportedly unwilling to meet the centre-back's £25million release clause.

Bitter rivals Manchester City emerged as potential suitors for the Argentine in the meantime, with Valencia-based paper SuperDeporte claiming both sides held talks over the weekend with 'super-agent Jorges Mendes', which we believe is now Mendes' full name.

According to the Daily Star, United appear to be the frontrunners to sign the 27-year-old, who could feature alongside Mike Smalling next season.

LIVERPOOL RETURN FOR XABI?
Oh, to see that beard return...

Just the Daily Express running this one, which is no huge surprise. In discussing his contract situation with Bayern Munich, one wonders whether Xabi Alonso knew he would open a Premier League-shaped can of worms?

"My contract? We will see what happens. This is not the time to discuss this subject," is the sole quote from the Spaniard, which has predictably put Liverpool 'on alert'. The 33-year-old has one year left on his contract with the Bundesliga champions.

With 427 players already having been promised some 'outstanding' central midfield action by Brendan Rodgers this summer, we unfortunately doubt Alonso would make an emotional return to Anfield.

But still, the beard...

SPURS' CARDS ON TABLE FOR CLINTON
'Transfer insider says Tottenham 'have made £7m bid for amazing African Ronaldo'. The most Metro headline ever. The most Jamie Sanderson headline ever.

Who is the 'amazing African Ronaldo', then? Well, it's Clinton N'Jie, a 21-year-old Lyon forward who bagged seven goals in 30 Ligue 1 games last season.

The 'transfer insider' in question is Alan Nixon, formerly 'Boss of Goss' for The Sun and 'the king of football transfer gossip' for the Daily Mirror. According to him, Spurs have lodged a bid of £7million for Cameroonian Ronnie.

Of course, 'Spurs bid for Ligue 1 winger' doesn't sound as SEO-sexy as 'amazing African Ronaldo', so Sanderson was in full flow.

'A speedy attacker who can play as a striker or out wide, the 21-year-old has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo by some observers.'

Just beautiful.

SCH CHE SCE ARSENAL KEEPER TO JOIN ROMA
Welcome to transfer gossip in the year 2015.

After being dropped from Arsenal's starting XI just after January last season, the future of Wojciech Szczesny has faced plenty of speculation. Petr Cech's arrival and surely imminent capture of that first-choice spot could well only push him further away.

Not many clubs have been linked mind, but the one thing generally agreed is that Szczesny will have to leave in order to earn some minutes between the sticks.

Ajax were linked on Monday, with the Dutch club considering him a replacement for Jasper Cillessen if the keeper joins Manchester United. On Tuesday, a link to Roma surfaced. Why? Instagram.

*Thankfully* not too many outlets are reporting it, but talkSPORT lead with a rumour that the Pole will join the Serie A side after he followed the club, Francesco Totti and Alessandro Florenzi on Instagram. Oh yes...

UNITED WANT MULLER
Louis van Gaal has since said that Manchester United are not about to sign "the striker that the media has written about", so does that mean The Guardian are wrong about Thomas Muller? They claim that the German is open to an Old Trafford move and that United could test Bayern's resistance with a bid of around £55.7m.

Jamie Jackson writes: 'While it is understood no bid has been made for the 25-year-old the proposed salary for Müller would be €20m a year (£13.7m). This is around £265,000 a week, around double what he earns at the German champions from the five-year contract signed last summer.'

STONES IS KEEN ON CHELSEA
The consensus across the newspapers on Tuesday morning is that Chelsea are in no mood to give up on Everton defender John Stones, with The Guardian amongst others suggesting that a bid of £26m is on the horizon. There is some suggestion that the Toffees would relent if the offer moved north of £30m.

The Sun go further and claim that Stones himself is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge with a 'source' quoted as saying: "This is not a Raheem Sterling situation where there's any bad feeling between John and the club and vice versa - but John is definitely interested in going to Chelsea."

SOME MOUTINHO NONSENSE
The name of João Moutinho keeps popping up on various websites today - The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph amongst them - in relation to a £14m move to Arsenal, but we are buggered if we can find any original source to this story that is not the Express or the Metro, who handily link to each other.

This story first popped up on July 16 - when the price was mooted as £18m - so if Arsenal wait long enough, they might get the Portuguese midfielder from Monaco for a couple of quid. With Mathieu Flamini apparently bound for Galatasaray, that could be a decent deal.
