Watford Coach Hails ‘Important’ Ighalo For Snubbing Big-Money China Move
Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores has heaped plaudits on Super
Eagles striker Odion Ighalo whom he describes as “a wonderful man”.
Ighalo scored Watford’s goals in the 2-0 win at home against Victor Moses’ West Ham United on Saturday to become the Hornets’ Premier League top scorer in history with seven goals.
The Nigerian scored 20 goals in 38 appearances in the Championship last season and turned down the chance of a big-money move to China to sign a new five-year contract with Watford.
Flores said the decision of the former Udinese and Granada striker to stay at the club despite interest in him was the best.
“Ighalo took a very important decision to stay at Watford. It was a brilliant idea,” Flores told Sky Sports.
