Obiora Ends Four-Year‎ Drought, Scores First Academica Goal

Super Eagles midfielder Obiora Nwankwo was on target in Academica's 1-1 draw against Moreirense in an ill-tempered Portuguese top flight game that saw eight yellow cards issued on Sunday.

The goal‎ ended a four-year goal drought for the Nigerian and it was his first goal for the club in 35 league games since he joined last year‎.
Obiora last scored ‎a league in the colours of Gubbio in the 2011/12 season in Serie B. He scored in the 15th minute of the encounter on Sunday to hand his side their second win of the season as they climbed out of the relegation zone.
Obiora has played all eight games for Academica this season.
The former Inter Milan and FC Cluj of Romania star has 13 international caps for the Super Eagles but was left out of the squad to face Swaziland in a fortnight.
