AfricanFootball.com can exclusively reveal that the former Orlando Pirates of South Africa ace inked a five-month deal on Wednesday.
He is now the sixth Nigerian players in the team as he joined Fidelis Saviour, Yau Hasan, Bobby Abel, Abdulmalik Mohammed and Chukwudi Samuel.
Saviour told AfricanFootball.com that he is excited to have such a player as team mates as he will help the team and the players with his experience.
“‘Tico’ joined us on Wednesday formerly as he signed a contract with Mosta. It is a great previlege to have him as my teammate. I never thought this will happen as I do watch him on TV when he was with Enyimba and in South Africa.
“He is such a great midfielder we all here will learn from his experience. I am happy to have him around because he will surely add value to our team."
The 33-year-old Okonkwo has played for Enyimba (Nigeria), Orlando Pirates, Black Ace (South Africa), Al Kharitiyat (Qatar) and FC Zurich (Switzerland).
