Transfer Gossip

Arsenal are on the verge of a deal for Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez, according to the Metro. The Gunners are reportedly on the verge of a cut-price £10.8m deal for the 27-year-old, who has struggled for appearances this season. However, Arsene Wenger may face competition from Manchester City.
The Metro also reports that Petr Cech is "99 per cent" certain he will join Arsenal this summer. The only doubt in his mind is to whether Roman Abramovich will rubber stamp the deal. The Gunners would have to pay around £10m for Cech.
John Hartson has urged his old club to enter the race for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “For Arsenal to go and compete and appease the supporters and to stop them moaning, they’ve got to go and make a stand and go in for Bale because you know Chelsea and Manchester United will if he becomes available.”
Arsenal are set for a summer clear out with eight first team players ready to be shown the exit, says talkSPORT. Arsene Wenger is reportedly ready to let Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky, Abou Diaby, Mathieu Flamini, Joel Campbell, Carl Jenkinson, Ryo Miyaichi and captain Mikel Arteta leave.

Denmark international defender Simon Kjaer has declared that a summer move to Liverpool would "make his family happy".
Kjaer, 26, has enjoyed an impressive two year spell with Lille in French football, following a cut-price £2.2million move from Wolfsburg.
During that time, the Dane has marshalled a defence which has conceded on average less than a goal-per-game, with only twice-title winners PSG conceding less in that time.
But Kjaer could be set to leave Ligue 1 this summer, with Rene Girard's side having failed to qualify for European competition next term.
And while he says any decision won't be made until the end of the current campaign, he does have half an eye on a potential move to Anfield, having been linked with the Reds.

Liverpool to buy Jovetic from Man City and sell Lambert to Bournemouth. Also, Yaya Toure offered £8million a year...move to Real Madrid, with Man United targeting Petr Cech as his replacement, while James Milner will snub Arsenal for Liverpool.

LIVERPOOL LINE UP JOVETICEdin Dzeko was linked with Chelsea on Sunday, and now the Daily Mirror claims Stevan Jovetic is a target for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as Manchester City look to ship out some of their expensive reserve players.

Rodgers spent £20million on Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert last summer following the departure of Luis Suarez, but neither striker has enjoyed much success at Anfield, leaving the Reds in need of yet another squad overhaul this summer.

City paid £22million to sign Jovetic from Fiorentina two years ago, but the Montenegrin has failed to establish himself at the Etihad Stadium and was cut from the club's squad for the Champions League knock-out stages following the January signing of Wilfried Bony.

The Mirror reckons Liverpool will face competition from Juventus for Jovetic but they are also expected to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings once his contract expires.

LAMBERT A BOURNEMOUTH TARGETWhile Jovetic and Ings could be on their way to Liverpool, the aforementioned Lambert looks likely to be shipped out after just one season with his hometown club.

The 33-year-old has started only seven Premier League games for the Reds, but the Mirror report he has been lined up for what they label a 'sensational return' to the south coast with newly promoted Bournemouth.

We're not entirely sure what would be sensational about it - it's exactly the sort of move this column would expect him to make - but at least it's a believable rumour. Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe apparently sees Lambert as the ideal partner for Callum Wilson, whose 23 goals helped the Cherries to the Championship title.

Alexandre Lacazette has given Liverpool a transfer boost by admitting he could leave Lyon this summer.
The 23-year-old was crowned the Ligue 1 Player of the Year on Sunday, preventing PSG hitman Zlatan Ibrahimovic from claiming the prize for a third straight campaign.
Javier Pastore and Marco Verratti were also in the running but were pipped by Lacazette after his 27 goals helped Lyon qualify for the Champions League.
His form has led to reports of interest from Anfield, with PSG and Arsenal also linked with an approach.
"I don't know," he replied when asked if he would still be at OL next season.

TOURE OFFERED £8M QATAR CHANCELinked with the likes of Inter Milan and Chelsea so far this summer, Yaya Toure is now alleged to have been offered the chance of a wage rise with Qatari side Al Gharafa.

The Sun claims the 32-year-old has been offered £8million a year, equivalent to around £280,000 per week in the Premier League due to the tax breaks in the Middle East, significantly more than he could likely earn elsewhere heading into the final years of his playing career.

Al Gharafa are said to be willing to offer Toure a three-year contract in a further move to tempt him out of a reunion with Roberto Mancini in Serie A.

And he's not the only player Louis van Gaal wants on board.
It's likely to be a busy off-season at Old Trafford with the post-Ferguson rebuilding set to continue (and the post-Moyes even moreso).
