Nigeria lose to Democratic Republic of Congo

Nigeria’s preparations for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers suffered a setback on Thursday night following a 2-0 defeat to Democratic Republic of Congo in Belgium.
The build-up to the match in Vise was overshadowed by the retirement of veteran goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, and it looked to have played on the players’ minds as they conceded after just seven minutes.
Dieumerci Mbokani got the goal after some clever play from Yannick Bolasie.
The Central Africans continued to dominate and got a second just past the half-hour mark when Jordan Nkololo side-footed home.
DRC had the better of the second half as well and should have added to their tally, but it finished 2-0 – meaning a first defeat for Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh since his appointment three months ago.
