Veteran French defender Patrice Evra has completed his move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.
The 35-year-old former Monaco and Manchester United
left-back joins the nine-time league winners on an 18-month contract
from Juventus.Evra, who began his career with Paris Saint-Germain, and also had spells with Monza and Nice, had joined Juve in July 2014 after making 379 appearances in eight years with the Red Devils.
He begins this next and possible last phase in his career with five Premier League titles on his CV, one Champions League medal, a Club World Cup triumph, three League Cup successes, two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias and a Supercoppa Italiana.
A brief statement from Marseille read: "After having met his medical requirements, Patrice Evra, the French international, signed an 18-month contract with the Olympique of Marseille this Wednesday.
"He will attend the press conference this Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the presence of OM President, Jacques-Henri Eyraud, and sports director, Andoni Zubizarreta."
And Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri praised Evra for his contribution to the club over the past few seasons.
"He had a great two-and-a-half seasons with us. He's a great champion, a great professional and I'm sorry he's left," he said.
"But we talked and we came to this decision. I have only positive things to say about Evra.
"He played for 10 years at Manchester United, he came to Juventus and was a very important player for us."
