Hector Cuper plots Renard fall as Egypt clash with Morocco.
Egypt coach Hector Cuper says his team will
immediately start preparing for their African Nations Cup quarter-final
with Morocco on Sunday.
The Pharaohs finished top of Group D with seven points following a 1-0 win over runners-up Ghana in Port-Gentil, Gabon last night.The Black Stars also advanced and will face DR Congo on Sunday.
"We always think of winning whatever game we are going into," Cuper is quoted as saying by CAF. "I wished to play a better game especially in the second half, but we were facing a very strong team in Ghana. They were very dangerous especially in the second half.
"Ahmed Fathy played as a left-back because it was a tough game and we needed his experience.
"We will start immediately preparing for the quarter final game against Morocco.
"Our ambition is very high and we are happy to win such a tough game. Our next game is even more difficult but I promise our supporters back home that we will fight till the last second."
Egypt have won the competition a record seven times - three more times than next best Ghana and Cameroon.
