Elsewhere Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as Manchester City comfortably beat Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 in their Champions League opener at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
City took and an early lead when Aguero stabbed home a low cross from Aleksandar Kolarov in the eighth minute. The hosts continued to dominate the game and doubled their advantage when Aguero tucked home from the penalty spot on 28 minutes after Ilkay Gundogan was brought down by Christoph Kramer.
The second half continued in the same vein and Aguero completed his hat-trick in the 77th minute when he received a through ball from Raheem Sterling, before Kelechi Iheanacho rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.
