TRANSFER GOSSIP

Once they get started, there’s just no stopping them. Fresh from spending £52m on Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez, Arsenal are reportedly preparing an £8m bid for Miguel Almiron, a Paraguayan international who can play on either wing or as an attacking central midfielder.  Currently plying his trade with Argentine side Lanus, the 22-year-old scored four times in 16 appearances last season.
And the man himself has spoken, saying: “It would be nice to play at Arsenal, but I still haven’t heard anything. The person to speak to is my agent. For now I’m just thinking about Lanus.”
In other Arsenal news Jack Wilshere is said to be available for loan while Calum Chambers could be heading to Middlesbrough and Serge Gnabry might have fallen on his feet with a transfer to Bayern Munich followed by loan to Werder Bremen.

REAL TURNED DOWN CESC
And not just turned him down, but turned him down without giving him any thought at all, according to Spanish daily El Confidencial. They want Eden Hazard but they do not want Fabregas, who clearly lacks the dynamism to play in a midfield with N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic. So that’s Fabregas stuck at Chelsea, which is not a brilliant situation for either the player of club. And still Antonio Conte – according to the Daily Mail at least – wants to ‘add more energy’ to his midfield.
That has taken them to the door of Inter Milan with £25m for Marcelo Brozovic, who is for sale after the Italian club paid a cool £38.4m for Joao Mario. Juventus are also said to be interested but Inter would rather sell him to an English club than a Serie A rival.

WEST HAM AND EVERTON WANT BONY
It’s fair to say that both clubs are in desperate need for a striker and he would certainly fit the style of both Ronald Koeman’s Everton and Slaven Bilic’s West Ham. The Ivorian could have the choice between a loan move to the Hammers are a permanent £20m switch to the Toffees; he may be swayed by the fact that he would have to battle with Romelu Lukaku for a starting spot at Goodison Park.
In other unwanted City players news, not only is Joe Hart about to join Torino on loan but Eliaquim Mangala has been told that they are willing to subsidise his wages if he can find a loan move this week. Tottenham have been strongly linked.

AND THE REST
Crystal Palace have turned down an increased £18m offer from Tottenham for winger Wilfried Zaha...Porto’s attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi could be the final piece of the jigsaw for Everton…Sunderland have moved ahead of Hull in the race for Ryan Mason…Hull could move for Will Keane from Manchester United and Jeff Hendrick from Derby… Palace have made a £6.5 million bid for Genoa midfielder and Venezuela captain Tomas Rincon…Palace are also close to signing Loic Remy on loan from Chelsea…Newcastle are hoping to sign West Brom winger Callum McManaman.

Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli is edging closer to a departure as negotiations with Ligue 1 side Nice continue.
The Italy international EPL has been in talks with the French club since last week and with the transfer window closing tomorrow the expectation is that deal will get done.
It will bring to an end a miserable spell at Anfield where he featured for just one campaign having been signed for £16million by former manager Brendan Rodgers.
Balotelli scored just four goals in 28 appearances and was farmed back out to AC Milan on loan last season but he returned this summer having been told he has no future.
A host of clubs have turned down the chance to sign the occasionally troublesome striker but Nice appear prepared to take the same gamble Rodgers did in 2014.
With manager Jurgen Klopp having done most of his buying early in the current window, all the activity leading up to the deadline will be out-goings.
Winger Markovic has not featured in any match day squad since returning from last season’s loan spell with Fenerbahce.
The 22-year-old Serbia international is keen to secure a loan within the UK and has been linked with SkyBet Championship side Newcastle.
Liverpool are also actively seeking a club to take centre-back Mamadou Sakho on loan.
The France defender has turned down Stoke and West Brom after being sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of the United States after Klopp expressed concerns about his attitude and instances of poor timekeeping.
It is understood Sakho has been told it is in his best interests to leave on a temporary basis in order to save his Liverpool and international career.
Klopp does not want to sell the 26-year-old at the moment as he still rates him as a player but the defender has to prove his fitness and professionalism at another club.
Sakho has fallen well down the Anfield pecking order – Klopp brought in Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan this summer and both have already played in competitive matches – because of his attitude.
Fellow defender Andre Wisdom is set to join Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on a temporary basis but Liverpool have turned down loan bids for striker Danny Ings.
The 24-year-old has yet to feature as he works his way back to full fitness after last season’s serious knee injury but Klopp plans to introduce him gradually back into first-team football.

Werder Bremen are on the verge of completing the signing of Serge Gnabry from Arsenal, according to the Bundesliga club’s director of sport Frank Baumann.
The 21-year-old German midfielder, who scored six goals for his country as they clinched a silver medal at the Olympic Games, is out of contract next summer and set to return to Germany.
Baumann said he expects Gnabry to arrive in northern Germany on Wednesday and dismissed reports that Bayern Munich would participate in the transfer by buying the player and loaning him to Bremen.
“We’ve got an agreement with the player and we’re confident it will go through,” he said at a press conference on Tuesday. “We have reached a fundamental agreement with Arsenal, but nothing is signed yet. Bayern have no influence on the potential transfer.
“It could all go through by lunchtime tomorrow. We’ve gathered information on him from Per Mertesacker, who was full of praise for him.”
Bremen are putting all their efforts into signing the Germany Under-21 international with Baumann adding: “If it doesn’t work out with Serge Gnabry, which I don’t expect to happen, then we are not going to be doing anything else.”
Gnabry joined the Gunners from Stuttgart’s youth academy in 2011 and has gone on to play 10 Premier League games for them, as well as making a solitary appearance during a loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season.

Crystal Palace have announced the signing of striker Loic Remy on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The France international moves to Selhurst Park after finding opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge.
Palace wrote on Twitter: “#CPFC are delighted to confirm Loic Remy has joined on a season-long loan from @ChelseaFC.”
Chelsea added on their website: “Loic Remy will spend the 2016-17 season on loan across London with Crystal Palace.
“The 29-year-old, who has been a Chelsea player for two years, will play the rest of the current campaign in the Premier League with our south London neighbours.”
Remy has two years remaining on the four-year contract he signed when moving to Chelsea from QPR on August 31, 2014.
He will have 12 months left on his Chelsea deal come the end of the 2016-17 season, so it may be the move can be made permanent if Remy impresses at Palace.
Seven of his 12 Chelsea goals – in a total of 46 appearances – came in the Blues’ 2014-15 Premier League title win. He was also part of the squad which won the 2015 League Cup.
He was unable to dislodge Diego Costa as first choice striker and described being reunited with Palace boss Alan Pardew as “a big opportunity”.
Pardew was Remy’s manager during the 2013-14 season at Newcastle, where the Frenchman scored 14 goals in 27 appearances on loan from QPR.
Remy said on cpfc.co.uk: “This is a very good chance for me and a big opportunity. It was very important to know Alan Pardew as he is a very good manager and I am happy to be here.”
Pardew added: “Loic has been a target of mine throughout this transfer window and I’m delighted the deal has been done.
“I brought him to Newcastle so I know what he is capable of and I am convinced he will be a quality addition to our squad as we evolve.
“Loic has international and Champions League experience as well as being a Premier League title winner and is the latest example of the high calibre of players we have brought into the club during this transfer window.”
