Ikeme, Leon Balogun hail Eagles invites

Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme and Germany-based Leon Balogun have welcomed their invitation to the Nigeria Super Eagles by coach Sunday Oliseh.

Ikeme, 29, is among the 18 foreign-based professionals called up for a 2017 AFCON qualifier against Tanzania.

"Very excited to be involved in my first Nigeria squad!! Thank you for all your kind messages and support," Ikeme tweeted.

In a related vein, Mainz defender Leon Balogun expressed his delight for being invited by the Eagles.

"Even on this very rainy day I find reason to smile - I'm very delighted about the call-up for the #SuperEagles GodIsGood," he tweeted.
