Jurgen identifies the problem with Alberto Moreno

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claims that the problem with left-back Alberto Moreno is that he is “sometimes he’s a little bit too passionate in defending”.
The Spaniard was dropped after the opening Premier League game against Arsenal ended 4-3, with James Milner taking his place.
With Milner ill, Moreno returned against Crystal Palace on Saturday and contributed with an assist in a performance full of running.
“There was never a doubt about Alberto,” said the man who dropped him.
“He is a young player and needs to learn a lot of things. Sometimes he’s a little bit too passionate in defending. But he is still young and can learn things.
“You see he is quick, has a good left foot, a good attitude and runs up and down, up and down. It’s nice for a manager to work with boys like this. We have to work together and we do – all good.”

Chuba Akpom Dad Reveals Iwobi CANNOT Influence His Son To Play For Nigeria

 

  Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom is not close to committing his international future to Nigeria, contrary to speculations in the local media that he might be invited for the World Cup qualifiers.

Teammate and very close pal Alex Iwobi became permanently cap-tied to Nigeria when he made his competitive debut against Egypt in an African Nations Cup qualifier back in March.

But Chuba’s dad Azu Akpom has stressed that the decision will not influence his son’s choice to play for England rather than the Super Eagles, adding that he wants to tie down a regular place in Arsenal’s first team.

“Alex’s decision may not sway Chuba, as in football every player finds his path eventually, you can’t say what applies to one will apply to the other, ” said Azu Akpom to papilonews.com.

“Right now, Chuba is only focused on establishing himself at Arsenal.

“After that, and at the right time he will decide which of the national teams he feels more comfortable to play for.”

Born in London 20 years ago, Chuba Akpom has caps for England U16s, U17s, U19s, U20s and U21s .

EMBARASSMENT AS  Tyronne Ebuehi Rejects Nigeria Call Up  


 ADO Den Haag fullback Tyronne Ebuehi has rejected the chance to make his international debut for Nigeria after rejecting a call-up to the Super Eagles squad that will face Algeria on November 12 in Uyo.

But the Haarlem-born stopper has refused to rule out the possibility of playing for the African powerhouse in future, and has insisted that he is focused on establishing himself in the first team squad of ADO Den Haag.
“I see it as a great honor that I am noted in my country. But at this time ADO Den Haag requires my full attention, ”  Ebuehi told his club’s official website.

“Especially now that I’m settled at the team. Therefore, now it does not seem the right time to travel to Nigeria for the match.

“I want to focus completely on the club. But I certainly do not rule out that I consider any future invitation.”

This season, Tyronne Ebuehi has recorded seven appearances for ADO Den Haag in all competitions.

 DANGEROUS PAIR IN EVERTON

There was no doubt about Everton’s biggest weakness under Roberto Martinez, and thus Ronald Koeman’s first task as manager. Martinez oversaw Everton’s worst defensive league campaign since 2004 last season, conceding 55 goals. Only Aston Villa and Sunderland faced more shots on target. They were, frankly, a disorganised mess.
Yet there was another, less obvious problem that Martinez failed to resolve: creativity. Only six teams scored more goals than Everton in the Premier League last season, so it seems unfair to criticise them for a lack of invention, but too often Romelu Lukaku was left as an isolated and frustratedstriker. You suspect that only Martinez’s departure persuaded the Belgian that he should remain at Goodison for at least another season.
Looking at a list of chance creators last season helps to identify the issue. The only Everton player to make a list of the top 25 was Ross Barkley in 17th, fewer than Alberto Moreno, James Milner and Jason Puncheon and level with the relegated Moussa Sissoko. The only other Evertonian to make the top 60 was Lukaku himself. Top scorer, second-highest creator; it’s a difficult gig.
Most notable was the absence of creativity from wide areas. Gerard Deulofeu managed 36, but next came Gareth Barry in Everton’s list. Aston Villa, Sunderland and West Brom were the only three other Premier League teams without a wide player creating 40 or more chances. That’s inauspicious company to share when you pride yourself on free-flowing invention.
That is particularly galling when you have a striker in Lukaku who thrives on service from wide. Everton’s star player was being sold short by the flaws both in Everton’s squad and his manager’s style. Martinez regularly picked Tom Cleverley wide left, an emphatic dedication to squeezing square pegs into round holes. Lukaku was regularly expected to receive the ball, shield it and beat a man before taking a shot.
The arrival of Yannick Bolasie has solved that issue instantly, and breathed even more life into Lukaku’s Everton career. Bolasie’s determination to close down the ball and slide to set up Lukaku’s opener was his fourth assist of the season; all four have been for a striker who is now the joint-top scorer in the division. No pair in the Premier League have combined more often, while in Bolasie, Everton finally have a wide player in the top 20 chance creators. Their goofy celebratory dance shows just how quickly Everton have grown a pair.
As a result of Bolasie’s energy, pace and delivery, Lukaku can concentrate on what he does best and thus Everton aren’t quite so reliant on his ability outside the penalty area. From two players in the top 60 chance creators last season, Everton have three in the top 20 in this campaign. Increased defensive solidity doesn’t have to mean less creativity.

Jose likely to land second FA charge in a week

Jose Mourinho’s bad week may be about to get a whole lot worse as he faces up to landing a second FA misconduct charge.
The Manchester United boss has until 6pm on Monday to respond to a charge related to comments he made about referee Anthony Taylor prior to his side’s match at Liverpool earlier this month.
And the FA is awaiting the referee’s report after Mark Clattenburg apparently sent the Portuguese to the stands at half-time of the goalless draw against Burnley at Old Trafford.
Former Chelsea boss Mourinho had been furious when Clattenburg turned down Matteo Darmian’s penalty appeal for a Jon Flanagan challenge just prior to the half-time whistle and his protestations may have accounted for his subsequent removal from the bench.
Mourinho was not in the dugout or on the touchline after the interval and, having taken a seat in the front row alongside supporters, he eventually relocated to the directors’ box.
Mourinho left Rui Faria to address the media, with his assistant offering a sarcastic riposte on the decision to send off Ander Herrera.
Herrera picked up a second yellow card for a challenge on midfielder Dean Marney in the second period, which seemed to be a result of a slip rather than indicative of any malice. Faria’s view was laced with sarcasm.
“About that, I just want to say, fantastic work from the referee,” he said after Saturday’s match.
Faria was also asked about Mourinho watching the second half from the stands and passing notes to assistants to take to the bench.
“To be fair I don’t know and I don’t think it’s very important,” Faria added.
“What is important is what the referee will write in his report. Apart from that, I can’t give you more details. It happened with them.”

Ferguson shouldn’t have written off Chelsea

Antonio Conte believes it is too soon for Sir Alex Ferguson or anyone else to write off Chelsea’s Premier League title chances.
Chelsea beat Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United 4-0 last Sunday, but former United boss Ferguson suggested the 2014-15 champions were not one of five teams in title contention this term.
The Blues have played nine games, which included losses to Arsenal and Liverpool, and Conte believes he needs eight to 10 more games before setting a goal for the end of the season in a competitive top flight.

“It’s very difficult to tell now our target,” the Chelsea head coach said.
“Because it’s early and in these games, we had difficulty against Arsenal and Liverpool.
“For this reason it’s important not to look at the table. It’s important to understand this type of work we’re doing now is good to improve and to become a strong team.
“A bit of time in the future, yes, after I think eight, 10 (more) games, I can tell our target.”

Conte insisted he respects Ferguson’s opinion, but refused to put limitations on what his squad can achieve with hard work.

“I respect a lot what he said, but I know that we are working very well,” the former Juventus and Italy boss added.
“I think now we are now in a good way to improve a lot and to become a team that can stay (in contention) till the end to get something.
“Our ambition must be always to play to win every game. Always. It’s important.
“I try to transfer this to my players in every moment, in every day, every week, in every game.
“We must be ambitious. But to be ambitious you must work a lot.”
